Last time the ATP finals rolled around I snapped up a cheap ticket before the draw was announced and ended up in a vertigo inducing back row seat, watching a rather lacklustre Berdych match. Not exactly ideal.
This year not keen to fork out hundreds – I tried my luck at winning tickets by entering the first competition I found on google.
As it turns out I may have been the only person to enter as two finals tickets turned up at my door! Off to the O2 we went expecting a doubles finals followed by a singles final…
Djokovich and Borris warming up.
Let the doubles begin…
Dodig & Melo vs the Bryan Brothers
And the winner was…
…the Bryan Brothers
Unfortunately quickly after the doubles Federer popped out to announce that he was too injured to play in the singles final!!
So next up and with no further points being played Djokovich was crowned champion!
Luckily for us and to our great excitement the last minute star of the show turned up in the form of Andy Murray to face Novak in a friendly.
“I have to apologize. I obviously pushed Roger so hard on Thursday.” – AM
Once the singles were over it was time for some fun….
Pat Cash, Tim Henman, Andy Murray and John McEnroe came out to entertain…
Not quite the match we were expecting, but who cares when Andy was there to save the day!
